Airframe and Powerplant (A&P)

Job Description:
  • Inspect, test, repair, maintain, and service aircraft.
  • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Modify aircraft structures, space vehicles, systems, or components, following drawings, engineering orders and technical publications.
  • Examine and inspect engine or other components for cracks, breaks, or leaks.
  • Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects.
  • Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Test engine and system operations, using testing equipment, and listens to engine sounds to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Service and maintain aircraft systems by performing tasks, such as flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
  • Perform maintenance IAW FAA approved technical data.
  • Research FAA technical data to locate applicable data relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
  • A&P license.
  • Must be able to document maintenance performed on required forms.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Must have knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to construct objects, structures, and buildings.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid clear driver’s license.

Aircraft Inspector (AI)

Job Description:
  • Lifting, Controls Instrumentation, and Manufacturing Experience.
  • Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Mechanical Packaging, Packaging, Tooling, Integrity, Flexibility.
  • Ensure operation of aircraft by completing preventive maintenance inspections; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the airline by complying with federal aviation administration and other legal requirements.
  • Detect and diagnose malfunctions by examining engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks; listening to operating engine for abnormal sounds to detect sticking or burned valves; inspecting turbine blades to detect cracks or breaks; using testing equipment such as ignition analyzers, compression checkers, distributor timers, and ammeters.
  • Determine feasibility and method of repair or replacement by studying and interpreting manufacturer’s and airline’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Keep maintenance equipment operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.
  • Upkeep the maintenance supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
  • Able to pass a standard FAA visual acuity test with vision corrected to 20/20.
  • Familiar with the applicable regulations and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment and tools used to determine the air worthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations are being performed.
  • Capable of using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids needed for the article being examined.
  • Inspectors must be properly certificated under part 65 of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid clear driver’s license.

Avionics Technician

Overview:

Perform operational checks, trouble shooting and repairs of avionics and electrical systems on all types of aircraft. Perform a variety of installation and maintenance of avionics hardware and wiring assemblies within budgeted time and at HAECO standards of quality.

Job Description:
  1. Perform work as assigned utilizing Work Cards and/or Service Bulletins within estimated or budgeted hours and within FAA standards of quality.
  2. Perform such typical maintenance operations, where standard methods and practices exist, as cabling, component removal and installation, wire harness removal and installation, fabrication and repair or wire assemblies, and continuity checks.
  3. Must be able to determine if work can safely be accomplished if aircraft is in a power on mode and be able to conduct necessary testing if in power on mode.
  4. Must be capable and experienced in the removal and installation of avionics systems.
  5. Must know and understand manufacturer’s installation specifications, such as the process manuals, or maintenance manuals related to specific job to be accomplished.
  6. Must be able to fabricate and install all wiring assemblies, static lines and associated mechanical equipment per drawings.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must have own working tools.
  3. Two+ (2+) years experience in aircraft maintenance and/or modification center or airlines, similar military experience.
  4. Read electronic schematics and use them to logically troubleshoot and repair A/C.
  5. Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. A & P required and/ FCC license preferred.
