We are proud to introduce our new Assistant Chief Pilot Cheryl Benish! With over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, Cheryl brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team.
As a child, Cheryl developed her passion for flying after taking one tour flight. From that day forward she always had her eyes to the sky, scouring the clouds for airplanes. Cheryl’s journey began in 1999, shortly after her daughter graduated from college. She earned her Pilot’s License in 2001, after 9/11. Cheryl went on to earn her instrument rating in 2008, Commercial License in 2009, and CFI in 2010. From 2011-2016 she continued building her experiences, earning her CFII, Multi-Engine, and EMB-145 type rating. Cheryl earned nearly all of her ratings under the instruction of our very own Chief Pilot, Sebastian Strzyzewski. She has been an instructor with Fly Legacy since December 2019.
Cheryl’s vast experience coupled with her passion for the industry and desire to help others grow makes her an incredible asset to our school. On any given day you may find Cheryl offering ground or flight instruction to students, advising instructors, or working closely under our Chief Pilot to maintain the highest standards for our flight school.
When asked what she is looking forward to the most Cheryl replied, “I am excited to accept this position to be able to help new instructors with my years of knowledge, and participate in the growth of Fly Legacy into the best flight school around.”
