Fly Legacy Is a year-round flight school. Winter weather flying shouldn’t delay your training goals.
With several months of winter weather ahead of us, now is a great time to consider best practices for the most efficient flight training schedule.
Flight training during the winter months holds a number of benefits which include:
- Experience flying the aircraft in varied weather conditions.
- Increased aircraft performance.
- Better visibility
- Less traffic and less turbulence.
- Increased instructor availability.
Tips for making the most of your winter flying schedule:
- Arrive for your lesson 10-15 minutes early, particularly if your lesson is early morning. You and your instructor may need to pull the aircraft out of the hangar or preheat the aircraft.
- Utilize days with poor flight weather to cover ground lessons or review past lessons.
- Take advantage of the earlier sunset to build night hours.
