We’ve partnered with schools to tailor specific training packages. Financing is now available for a wider range of programs — including the Private Pilot License (PPL), which has been recently reinstated.

Before starting, we recommend you (and your cosigner, if applicable) have the following information handy:

• Flight School Information: Note we only finance flight schools that have partnered with us.
• Training program: We have partnered with the school to tailor training programs. We do not currently finance training programs for recreational flying.
• Residential Address: We like to know your current address as well as if you plan to relocate to attend the flight school.
• Your identity information such as Legal Name, Citizenship, Social Security Number & Date of Birth.
• Financial Information such as employment situation, income, expenses, assets If conditionally approved, here are additional docs you may need:
• Identity documents (such as Driver’s License)
• 1st and 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate
• Proof of income (e.g., such as Paystub)
• Recent Personal Bank statements
• Proof of Assets – such as mortgage statement, investment accounts

Please note, down payments may be required depending on approval amount.

1. Is financing available for flight training?
   Yes. Fly Legacy Aviation partners with Stratus Financial, offering comprehensive financing for training, tests/check rides, and accommodations (depending on the program). 
   
2. What financing options are offered?
   We offer multiple variable and fixed-rate loan structures:
   
   • Variable Rate with 1-year deferred payment, then 13 years of principal & interest (not available in TX, OH, MO, NC, LA, MI).
     
   • Variable Rate with 2 years interest-only + 13 years principal & interest.
     
   • Variable Rate with 15-year full amortization.
     
   • Variable Rate with 1 year interest-only + 9 years principal & interest.
     
   • Fixed Rate with 15-year repayment.
     
3. Are there any state restrictions?
   Yes. Deferred payment options are not available in TX, OH, MO, NC, LA, and MI, and in those states, no origination fees are applied.
   
4. What types of information are needed to apply?
   You (and any cosigner) should have ready: flight school info, chosen training program, residential address, legal identity (name, SSN, DOB), and financial information (employment, income, expenses, assets). If conditionally approved, additional documentation like ID, FAA medical certificate, proof of income/assets may be required, and a down payment may be required.
   
5. Does Stratus Financial offer any unique benefits?
   Yes. Stratus is aviation-focused, considering applicants beyond just FICO scores. They offer:
   
   • Full financing, including deferment and flexible prepayment.
     
   • Support services like counseling, resume review, and industry networking. 
     
6. Can I defer payments while training?
   Yes. Select plans allow interest-only periods, including 1 year of deferred payment while you complete training and find a job. 
   
7. Is there a prepayment penalty?
   No. You may pay off your loan early without penalties.
