Last month, air travel within the United States neared pre-pandemic levels. To keep up with the increase in air travel demand, American Airlines is expecting to hire over 350 pilots during the remainder of this year and more than 1,000 pilots in the upcoming year.
In addition, American Airlines has begun asking flight attendants on voluntary leave to return by the end of the year to keep up with the rise in travel during the holiday season. Delta and United Airlines have projected hiring similar amounts of pilots by 2022. We’re eager to see the continued recovery and growth within the aviation industry.
