The aviation industry is notoriously out of reach for many young men and women who have an interest in a career as a pilot. Cost, time commitment, and accessibility are just a few of the numerous barriers future pilots face when exploring training options.
Fly Legacy Aviation and String Theory Charter School of Philadelphia are embarking on an exciting journey together to bring pilot career opportunities to the youth of our city. String Theory School, in serving students from underrepresented backgrounds, offers a new and innovative training program for students interested in a career as a pilot. Students enrolled in the flight training program can obtain their Private Pilot License at the age of 16, and by senior year students will be certified flight instructors, all at no cost to the students.
This month we welcomed our first two students from String Theory School who began their practical training with Fly Legacy. We are proud to be a part of the journey in training the next generation of pilots!
