We are proud to announce that instructor Declan Ferguson has been appointed to acting Assistant Chief Pilot for the flight school. Declan is now a point of contact for students and instructors, and will help maintain the school by carrying out duties under Sebastian Strzyzewski, our Chief Pilot.
Declan has been a continuous instructor here at Fly Legacy Aviation for over 2 years. Having his first logged flight at age 10, Declan has been not only passionate about flying, but resilient in his dedication. By the age of 18, Declan obtained his private pilot license from Infinity Flight School, while participating in Mercer Community College’s flight program in New Jersey. Following this, Declan traveled to Florida’s ATP where, at the age of 20, he completed his instrument rating, commercial single and multi-engine, CFI single and multi-engine, and his CFII, all in just a year’s time.
During his time at Fly Legacy, Declan has continuously gone above and beyond to assist students, instructors, staff, and the overall community in any way possible. His vast knowledge and piloting skills is respected throughout, as is his kindness and humor. Mr. Ferguson has been a profound asset to Fly Legacy Aviation, and we all look forward to seeing him continue to grow. If you happen to see Declan around, be sure to congratulate him, and he will be sure to reiterate that he is present for any assistance, all with a smile.
