My name is Sufi Annoor. I have 3 big passions in life; Technology, Photography, and Aviation. Everything I know about Technology and photography/cameras now, was an interest that came much later in my life and I taught myself everything that I could possibly learn about it since I was 12. But the desire to be a pilot was my childhood dream yet I didn’t do anything to learn anything about it until 3 years ago because I treated it like “it’s only a dream”.
I was 11 years old when my family and I moved to the USA from Bangladesh and that was the first time I have ever been in an airplane; the queen of the skies B747. During that trip, a flight attendant gave me a small model of the plane. My curiosity for aviation has intensified since my first flight. There were a lot of obstacles to fulfill my dream as an immigrant but I had to keep pushing myself to accomplish my dream to become a pilot, so one day my dream becomes reality and I can live my dream through my work. This training was only possible with tremendous support of the wonderful team at Fly Legacy Aviation, my instructors who went above and beyond to help me reach my requirements and last but definitely not least – my family.
I chose Fly Legacy because it was closer to home and was able to continue working full time throughout my flight training. In 2 and a half years I was able to obtain my private pilot through CFI. It feels rewarding to be able to pass on the knowledge I’ve learned over the last few years to new and upcoming pilots. I kept chasing my dream and followed what deeply made me tick.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my time here on earth, as Howard Thurman once said, “so we should not ask what the world needs, ask what makes you come alive, because what the world needs most is more people who come alive”.
